Quite all right really...The summer are on it`s way which is cool.
The Winter sucks!!!
Could you tell something of your newest piece, ”high on blood”? Regain
is an unknown label for me, could you
tell something about it?
”high on blood” is to start with our 2`nd full length disc. It was
recorded the last year in Berno Studio, the same place as we used for ”Rated-X”
and 11 tracks are on it. With no doubt, far more intence, faster, extreme,
brutal, tighter etc. etc. then anything on ”Rated-X” which is just weak
compared to the new disc. It`s not only more brutal and all that, it`s
also contains ways better songs... Ways tighter (luckily) and ways better
performed songs then on ”Rated-X”. We more or less worked with ”High
on blood” for two years, wrote like 24 new songs or so and basically picked
the 11 best. With no doubt, the best shit we`ve ever done whit Deranged...
All the rest of our releases basically pretty much sucks so... Regain records
is a new swedish label and be easiest described as ”ex. Worng Again rec”.
Wrong Again rec. quit their activities some time ago and one of the two
new label that formed from the ashes of Wrong Again are Regain rec. Anyway,
be sure to check ”high on blood” out! It`s a heavy mother fucker which
reek violence!!!
Can I ever expect to see your gig in Finland?
HOPEFULLY!!! We would like KILL (!) to play in FINLAND! As i said,

You also play in band called Murder Corporation, how does it differ
from deranged?
Murder Corporation differs quite alot from Deranged would i say. Murder
Corporation are probably not to start whit as fast as Deranged. It`s more
like pure death metal you know, pretty influenced by bands like Repulsion,
Master, Autopsy, Kiss, Cryptic Slaughter, the old Napalm Death stuff...
I think you know what I mean... We have 2 MCD`s out, one on Zabalah Prod,
from Spain which is like a sub label to Repulse and it`s titled ”blood
revolution 2050”. The second mini is released by Planet End rec., a sub
label to Regain rec. and it`s titled simply ”Kill!”. We`ll soon have a
full lenght CD out on Regain rec. which it´s going to be titled simply
”Murder corporation”, a split 7” single whit Panzer Christ, an own 7” single
on Stormbringer prod. plus a split LP whit Last days of humanity... All
of the stuff is said to be released around summer time so...
”High on Blood”, according to my knowledge was released through,
regain Records, have you charged Repulse to Regain?
We have only signed for one album on Repulse rec. and Regain. offered
us much better deal then Repulse would ever do. We wanted to leave Repulse
anyway basically as there was some bigger disagreements betweenus especially
at the end. Still, Repulse are probably a cool label and shit... They have
been supporting us and shit but as i said we couldn´t work anylonger
whit them. They wanted one thing and we another so... Also, needless to
say that it´s alot easier for us being a swedish band to work whit
a swedish label then a spanish.
Your music is great fucking brutal death metal what makes it great
whit goods riffs & aggression. How have you deleloped this style? Nothing
special I guess...
As always, we just pley and it´s sounds sool we keeps it. It´s
not like we always are trying to top us self whit doing an even faster,
more brutal song / CD. It usually just tunrs out that way. We have never
euther followed any stupid trend, we have always just done out ”own” thing.
Deranged have pretty much always sounded the ”same” if you know what i
mean? (yes i know-ed) We have always been pretty brutal and all that, luckily/hopefully
are the newer stuff tighter and better performed though God damn, we´re
playing death metal and death metal shall be brutall, fast and extreme.
Nothing sounds more stupid and just pure boring then ”melodic death metal”...
You have released a quite amout of stuff, so how much time does it
take to
complete a one song?
It differs... Usually 2-3 hours something... We improvises alot while
we´re doing a new song. As I said, it usually takes 2-3 hours to
do a song, still... When we wrote the stuff for Rated-X we allmost had
no time to really try to do something really cool you know... we more or
less wrote Rated-X disc in 2-3 monts. We had 9 songs and that was it. The
next day we started to record it. As for High on Blood... We wrote a whole
bunch of new songs and picked the 11 best. We have all ready allmost the
next Deranged CD written and done and this time arpund we have once again
worked in another way... We tries to do every small piece ”perfect” if
you know I mean. Doing some small changes here and there all the time something
we haven´t really done before.
Some questions from lyrics: A) you told, that you get some influences
from movies? Are there any good movies coming from Sweden? These are quite
lots of porn-movies coming from there?
Yeah...whatever I write a lyric for Deranged I watch an nasty splatter/horro
movie. I´ve been into that shit for ages now. Our lyrics have always
been pure fiction, just reflects another big intrerest we (well...mainly
I) got besides music, horror/splatter movies. No, there aren´t any
sool movies from Sweden. Sure, there´s some swedish produced splatter
movies but they all pretty much sucks. Yeah, there are thousand of swedish
produced porno movies but I don´t watch porno movies so... Some of
my faves when it comes to the horror/splatter genre are Videodrome, the
Evil dead trilogy, Gore, gore girls (well... most of H.G. Lewis´movies
in fact), Bloody pit of horror, Confessions of serial killer, the 4 Ilsa
films, Argento´s movies... I don´t know.
B)These is slashing and playing whit hammer in your lyrics, what
is the final result? (heh)
A big bloody mess of mangled human ramains.
C)With what weapon you would slash a
body? (äh)
I guess I prefer to ti kick my victims ´til death. (That would
be cool! -the sadistic ed.)
”Sculpture of the dead” was released separetely as MCD (the
2000 first ”Rated-X”:s incluted it too?) often ”Rated-X”, even through
it was recorded earlier?
Sculpture of the dead... Don´t know where to start really...
Well, to make a long and certainly a very boring story short, Sculpture
of the dead was first meant to be released by Invasion rec. which screwed
things up. I guess that 4-5 labels have been involved in that recording.
The whole thing was handled in the most unprofesional and childich way
you can ever think of. Anyway, Repulse thought it cool it would be a cool
idea to release it as a bonus disc to the first 2000 copies of ” Rated-X”
and as it´wasn´t releared we thought it was cool as well. Yeah,
later on it was released as an own disc. Don´t ask me why... Ha,
ha, ha...I think it sucks!
Do you listen to Deranged much yourself? What would you think of
it, if you weren´t a Deranged member
yourself?
I don´t listen to Deranged myself really...just if we decides
to play on older song live or so, otherwise, as I said newer!!! When it
comes to death metal I´m more or less only into the brutal and fast
stuff you know so I guess I would dig Deranged if I wasn´t in the
band you know... You know, you usually gets quite bored of your own songs,
I do anyway. First you rehearse them like fucking lunatcis, then in the
studio you listens to them over and over again, after that you rehearshes
them again and play them live and shit so, as I said, you usually gets
quite tired of your own songs...
What kind mail you get? have you got any strange mail?
I receive quite alot of letters and that´s cool. I have newer
really received any really strange
letter...
You don´t have a homepage in the net, have you through about
doing it?
Alot of people have been asking about it really and sure it would
had ruled to have an web site you know. We´re working on it. Would
certainly been cool to have an Deranged page, no doubt about that. Just
cool to keep people informed about that. Just cool to keep people informed
about what´s going on and shit, letting them know when we´ll
do a gig/tour and so on... As I said, we´re working on it.
You did cover of Rolling Stones ”paint it black”, how did you came
up with that?
Do you play lots of cover-songs rehearsals? It was my idead really...
I thought it would be great fun to cover that song so we played it during
rehearsels and live. While we was recording Rated-X everything turned out
quite fast, we put done the drum tracks in the first two days and shit
and had some spare time left so we recorded Paint it black as well, would
just be something for us in the band to have you know. Repulse really liked
it and wanted to have it featured on the CD as well so we said like ”Okey...who
cares” you know. Still, I don´t like that version myself really.
We have done a bunch of Kiss songs, a Slayer song, we have been featured
on a tribute disc to Misfits (Misfits rules! -ed.) and once in a
while we do a Discharge song live. Just old fave tunes of ours you know.
What kind a movie would be a movie called”deranged”?
There actually is a movie called Deranged all ready. We got our name
from the movie in fact... We was looking for a name for a new band we had
formed and me and the singer was just sitting at my place and chesking
out a look called The spaltter movie guite and review of Deranged came
up. We liked the name, the name and it certainly fitted the music/lyrics
we was doing so. Deranged is a movie basically about Ed Gein...
There´s are lots of immigrants is Sweden, what do you think
of it?
Nothing special... I hardly knows any ”foreingners”. I dont´t
care..
Has there ever been a serial killer or other sick cases in Sweden?
I guess so... Nothing I´m aware of through!
Tell about your fave bands, what
music do you listen to?
My all time fave band is KISS otherwise am I heavily into Slayer, Malevolent
Creation, Led Zeppelin, Cannibal Corpse, Black Sabbath, Suffocation,
Morbid Angel, Repulsion, Autopsy, Deep Pruple, uriah Heep, Hellacopters,
Vader... I don´t know. I listen to alot of different stuff. From
Beatles/Jimi Hendrix to Anal Cunt you know! Black Metal sucks though! No
it doesn´t! -the angry ed.) All that ”melodic/atmospheric death
metal”
sucks as well!!!
